AliExpress 8.173.3 for Android

AliExpress 8.173.3 is the Android app of the online marketplace owned by Alibaba Group, published by Alibaba.com Hong Kong Limited. You can download AliExpress for Android from Google Play to browse products, place orders and track deliveries from sellers, most of them based in China.

What the app is

AliExpress is not a single shop but a marketplace: thousands of independent sellers list their goods, and the platform handles search, payment, buyer protection and dispute resolution. Prices are often low because many sellers are manufacturers or wholesalers, and the range covers almost everything from phone cases and tools to clothing, electronics and spare parts. The trade-off is time and variability. Delivery abroad can take a while, quality ranges from excellent to poor, and product photos do not always match reality. The app is built for this kind of shopping: it keeps your orders in one list, shows tracking updates, lets you message sellers and open a dispute if something goes wrong. Wikidata describes AliExpress as a very large online platform and even classifies it as a notorious market, a label used for platforms criticised over counterfeit goods, so careful buying is part of the experience.

Who it suits

• People who buy small items and accessories and are happy to wait for delivery.
• Hobbyists who need electronic components, tools or spare parts that local shops do not stock.
• Buyers who compare prices and read reviews before ordering.

Who may prefer local shops

• Anyone who needs an item quickly.
• Buyers of branded goods who want guaranteed originals and a local warranty.
• People who do not want to deal with returns across borders.

How to install it

1. Install the app from Google Play; the developer should read Alibaba.com Hong Kong Limited.
2. Sign in or create an account, and set your country and currency.
3. Add a delivery address and a payment method.
4. Turn on notifications for order tracking if you want updates.

Requirements

The app needs an Android phone or tablet with internet access; Google Play shows whether your device is compatible. The package is about 97.03 MB according to catalogue data.

Buyer safety

Pay only inside the app, never by transfer outside it, or buyer protection does not apply. Check a seller's rating and the number of orders, read reviews with photos, and open a dispute before the protection period ends if the parcel does not arrive or does not match the description. Be wary of links to AliExpress in messages and ads; open the app directly instead. Install only from Google Play or the official site.

Price

The app is free. You pay only for the goods and delivery; customs duties may apply depending on your country.

Pros and cons

• Pro: huge range of goods at low prices.
• Pro: order tracking and disputes in one app.
• Pro: buyer protection when you pay inside the app.
• Con: slow delivery abroad.
• Con: uneven quality and risk of counterfeits.
